Step 1: Log in to Your HubSpot Account
- Navigate to the HubSpot homepage.
- Enter your username and password to sign in.
Step 2: Access the Marketing Hub
- From the top navigation bar, hover over "Marketing."
- Select "Email" from the dropdown.
Step 3: Choose "Automated Email"
- On the email dashboard, click on the "Create" button, usually located on the top right.
- From the dropdown, select "Automated Email."
Step 4: Select a Template
- HubSpot will present a variety of templates to choose from based on your needs.
- Browse through and pick one that fits your desired email design, then click "Select."
Step 5: Customize the Email Content
- Enter a name for your email sequence for internal reference.
- Use the email editor to customize the subject line, body text, images, and any other content elements.
- Use personalization tokens to make the email tailored to each lead, such as adding their first name.
Step 6: Define the Email Sequence Triggers
- Navigate to the "Settings" tab in the email editor.
- Define the enrollment triggers for your email sequence. This could be when a contact fills out a specific form, visits a certain page, or any other lead behavior you wish to use as a trigger.
Step 7: Set the Sequence of Emails
- Return to the main email dashboard.
- Click on "Sequences" and then "New Sequence."
- Name your sequence.
- Add the email you just created to this sequence.
- Click on "Add another email" if you wish to extend the sequence with additional follow-up emails.
- Define the time intervals between each email in the sequence, such as sending the next email 2 days after the previous one.
Step 8: Specify the Sequence Criteria
- Within the sequence editor, set the enrollment criteria. For instance, you might choose to enroll contacts who have filled out a specific form on your website.
- Set up any exclusion criteria if there are contacts you want to avoid sending this sequence to.
Step 9: Review and Test the Sequence
- Always send a test email to yourself or a colleague to ensure the email content, design, and links are functioning correctly.
- Review the triggers and criteria to ensure they match your intentions.
Step 10: Activate the Sequence
- Once you're satisfied with your automated email sequence and have tested it, click on the "Activate" or "Start sequence" button.
